Much Better Butter has partnered with Oakland nonprofits GirlVentures and The Mosaic Project. Both are amazing organizations that foster and support young leaders of tomorrow. We support these groups because today's kids will be the future's leaders and can help heal the planet and keep this world of ours on a positive path. 

We discovered GirlVentures when David's East Coast niece traveled to CA to participate in a high elevation backpacking trip in the Sierra mountains. It was transformative- a city kid turned into an outdoor and worldly young adult. She loved it so much she decided to return as a CIT the following summer.

GirlVentures also runs a variety of leadership programs all year round in the Bay Area. Their programs explore identity, social justice, leadership, health and the environment for young girls. Girls are the future!

The Mosaic Project is close to our hearts. Our son's fifth grade participated in their weeklong sleep away camp, with kids from three other schools of diverse backgrounds. It was his first time away from home and he came inspired and filled with self confidence. And he still knows the lyrics to all the songs!

The mission of The Mosaic Project is to promote a more peaceful future by uniting children of diverse backgrounds and providing them with essential community building skills.
